In today’s email, we’re sharing our conversation with Voltaire Cycles, Florida.
Caren and Ron partnered up in 2019, excited by the business’s vision of bringing more mobility to more people, the two of them were keen to take bike customer service to the next level. At the time, E-bikes were taking off. The pair were fascinated by this revolutionary industry development and jumped on it.
How’s business?
The business has far exceeded every one of our expectations. There’s barely a day that goes by that customers don’t tell us that they return to us because of how warm and inviting our shop and crew are!
Sarasota is the number one place in the country for people to retire, and one of the fastest-growing cities in the US. Retirees move down ready to increase their activity levels and once they learn that exercise is one of the many benefits of E-bikes, they’re hooked.
Electric bikes enriching the lives of those in later life? We love it! E-bikes are for all ages and occupations. We’re so glad to see the people of Sarasota enjoying the benefits of our E-bikes.
How often does a customer come into the store who doesn’t know much about EBC Bikes?
I would say 25% of our customers come in without any knowledge of E-bikes. One of our favorite parts of the day is watching an E-bike newbie first take off on a demo ride. Hoots and hollers and grins!
Ah, the first E-bike ride, we’re all been there!
What EBC Models are most popular, and why do you think that is?
Our bestsellers are the E and the R. I think people are attracted to the sleek look of the integrated down tube battery and the affordable price. We tend to sell Model E’s for women or smaller people and Model R’s for taller or larger customers.
A solid system. We like it.
What percentage of your business are E-Bikes/ EBC Bikes?
Approximately 18% plus of our bikes sold are EBC.
18 and still goin’ up.
How does selling an EBC bike differ from selling a standard bike or another brand?
It’s a lot more fun! People love the feel of the bikes, and they get super excited about building their own with custom colors and accessories. The 5-year warranty and free anti-theft system seal the deal.
Fun and secure? It’s what we’re known for, and we wear it with pride!
