E-bikes have been evolving for over a century, but they are still relatively unknown to the public. EBC is often approached with the same questions when first-time buyers reach out to us. We have assembled a list of the 8 most common questions asked about our cruisers, and answered them so you can become an E-Bike expert!
1. How fast can your E-Bikes go?
EBC E-Bikes can reach up to 28 mph with the 750 watt motor* and pedal assist. The speed is dependent on the rider (weight & load) and conditions.
2. How far can a charged e-bike go?
EBC offers four battery options to fit your unique needs. The 11Ah Standard can take you up to 50 miles at a full charge, while the largest upgraded, combination Battery at 36Ah can last up to 200 miles in prime conditions. That’s nearly the distance from New York City to Washington, D.C!
We also offer variations in between. Check out our Compare Bikes Page for all the specs.
3. Can I ride an e-bike in the rain?
All EBC parts are water-resistant and made to get you safely to your destination. Should you find yourself caught in the rain. We suggest finding shelter for your E-Bike as soon as possible as we do not recommend riding in heavy rain. Batteries and motors are water-resistant, but not waterproof. Once you find shelter, immediately wipe down to dry your bike for storage until the weather clears up.
4. Are e-bikes hard to set up?
EBC bikes are shipped fully built and assembled. All you have to do is choose your customizations and let our team of builders do the work for you. Check out our delivery video here.
5. What kind of maintenance should I expect?
Just like driving a car, you should always check your wheels before taking your E-Bike out. It is also recommended to get a professional tune-up done every 6 months. You can learn more about basic maintenance with our USER INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS on the FAQ page.
6. Can I get a workout on an e-bike?
Yes. Even though it is pedal-assisted, you are still working your legs. With E-Bikes, you can ride longer, put less stress on your body, and get the same health benefits.
7. How should I store my E-Bike?
Your e-bike should be stored indoors to protect it from premature wear. Some parts can be affected by extended exposure to harsh elements, like humidity and cold weather.
8. Why is it important for E-Bike brands to build their own bikes?
EBC has the expertise and equipment needed to build our bikes rather than importing them. This enables us to oversee their construction from start to finish and ensure a high-quality product that meets American performance requirements.
*This number is rounded. Our motors are programmed to the federal legal limit of up to 749.99 watts.
