Top 10: Bike Routes in the United States… Part 1

EBC bike owners are EVERYWHERE!

One of the best things about riding your E-Bike is that you can explore beautiful and spectacular terrain that you could never get to in your car – and enjoy it in a completely different way.

We’ve put together a list of trails we consider some of the best bike routes in America. These beautiful trails are in National Parks, across mountainous roads, and along rugged coastline. How will you decide?!

1.    Big Sur-Carmel to Ragged Point, Highway One, California

One of the top rides in America and possibly the most popular route in California, this spectacular coastal road offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean with waves pounding the coastline as you pound your pedals. With the mild California climate, this ride is enjoyable all year round.

2.    Glacier National Park, Montana

With more than 700 trails from which to choose, Glacier National Park offers mesmerizing views at high elevations. The roads are closed to cars in springtime but open to hikers and cyclists – so plan your trip for Spring!

3.    Camino Cielo, Santa Barbara California

Camino Cielo in the Santa Ynez Mountains translates to “Road to the sky.” With jaw-dropping vistas of Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands from 4,000 feet above the city, you will feel as though you are floating above the clouds. If you are going to be in Southern California, we highly recommend this beautiful trail.

Here’s a satellite link so you can see the terrain.

4.    Shark Valley Trail, Florida

A popular cycling trail in Florida, Shark Valley Trail is in the Everglades National Park – the largest continuous stand of sawgrass prairie in North America. Home to thirteen endangered and ten threatened species, it’s the largest mangrove ecosystem in the western hemisphere and the largest designated wilderness in the eastern US. If this isn’t enough to whet your appetite, it’s full of wonderful wildlife like crocodiles, turtles, a myriad of fish species and colorful bird life – many of which you’ll encounter on your ride.

5.    Maroon Creek Road, Aspen Colorado

Aspen is particularly beautiful in the spring and fall months, with vivid fall foliage framing a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and brilliant blue skies – it’s a sight to behold. The best time to plan your ride is in spring because you’ll ride the trails before they once again open to vehicular traffic after the winter months. Maroon Creek Road is an intermediate road that leads to the Maroon Bells Scenic Area – just over 9 miles in length.

Look at a satellite pic of the terrain here and here’s information on the trail.
