Summer might be done, but the sun hasn’t set on fun! Autumn is here, which means rides through vivid fall foliage, cafe jaunts for pumpkin spice lattes, and apple picking adventures. It’s also the ideal time to reminisce about all the great rides you got in this summer and consider some basic maintenance to gear up for colder, more inclement weather.
As sweater weather arrives and pumpkins dot patios, don’t fall behind on servicing your Electric Bike Company e-bike. Simple things like checking tire pressure, lubricating chains, and making sure lights work can protect against accidents and unnecessary damage this fall and winter.
A few of our favorite fall maintenance essentials:
- Check tire pressure and tread. It may be time for some air, or, if you rode a lot over the summer, it may be time for new ones.
- Lubricate chains to keeps things running smoothly and to protect against the elements.
- Make space to store you e-bike in a covered space, and consider getting a bike cover to protect against rain and snow.
- Remember there are less hours of light in the fall. Don’t get caught in the dark without working lights. Check all lights are working.
- Consider a water repellent trunk bag to store extra layers, all weather gloves, as well as a rain poncho and hi-vis vest or jacket.
- Mud flaps are a great investment to protect both your bike and clothing on rainy days.
- Remember to charge the battery every 3 weeks to prevent it from going into sleep mode.
