When you ride an electric bike consistently, it’s extremely important that you take care of your battery to ensure the longevity of your ride and overall satisfaction with your bike. To help you achieve this, Electric Bike Company is here to answer a few common questions about e-bike batteries!
Do I Have to Charge After Every Ride?
Electric Bike Company batteries are Lithium, meaning you do nothave to charge your battery after every ride. Due to the quality and reliability of our Lithium batteries, you only need to charge them when needed.
So, When Should I Charge My Battery?
We feel it’s best to charge your battery every two to three months for optimal maintenance. This is especially important during months of non-use. We offer a five-year warranty on all of our batteries.
Where is the Best Place to Charge my Battery?
With Electric Bike Company’s signature internal charger, there’s no need to worry about keeping a separate charger on hand to charge your bike on-the-go. Your charger is built into your battery, meaning you can simply extend the cord and charge anywhere – allowing you to make the most out of your journey. The design also has a six-bolt attachment and easy plug-and-play waterproof plugs.
How Should I Store my Battery?
With regular use, it’s important that you store your battery somewhere between fully charged and discharged. If you are not using your battery for an extended period, like during the colder winter months, make sure you fully charge your battery and switch off the main power. Then, slide your battery out and store it in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to ride again.
What Kind of Batteries Should I Look for When Buying an E-Bike?
We strongly recommend only buying e-bike packs containing name brand cells. Companies based in Asia like Samsung, Panasonic, LG or Sanyo are more trustworthy than alternatives. We choose to use 29e Samsung Lithium cells in all of our Electric Bike Company batteries because they are certified authentic and premium quality.
